The Woden Wanderers are about more than just the cricket and we consider developing people with the community to be an important function of this club. Part of doing this involves running a number of events for cricketing members, social members and their guests.
Movember Gala
The Woden Wanderers has an ongoing tradition of supporting a number of charities. One of our favourites is the month of Movember, during which all members are encouraged to participate, both in the growing and showing off their mo’s and in fundraising for men’s health issues. At the end of the month of Movember, a gala is held. All growing “mo-bros” are given a chance to dress up in theme and parade their mo, which is judged by some of the ladies of the club.
PM’s XI
The year would not be complete unless a group of us in our finest wanderers regalia attend the annual Prime Ministers XI match at Manuka Oval.
Presentation Night
The culmination of every season includes a chance to reflect on the successes and achievements of all within the club. This includes a dinner function and presentations of trophies and awards to players in all grades to celebrate their efforts.
